Google re-direct repair.
After a great deal of headaches my buddy Scott found
a solution to Google redirect problems.
1- Clean the computer with anti-spyware
2- Clean and remove all system restore points
3- Change your settings to view hidden files
4- Now navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
5- You should see the “hosts” file.
6- Now replace it with this one that came from my system which is
clean or make sure your file looks like this one. Open my file with
note pad for the information.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It should look like this: (windows xp)
(My file)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names.
Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host
name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least
one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on
individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows 7 (my
7 file)
---------------------------------------------------
# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.

#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This should be the only IP address showing in the list delete any
others.
Now try Google again and you should be clean and not being
redirected.
